The clients wanted a modern, playful, yet functional bathroom that would be both practical and welcoming for their grandkids and guests. Inspired by their love of pink and peach tones, they selected terrazzo flooring that adds a bold yet elegant touch. The tapware provides warmth and depth to the space and complements the soft hues of the tiles and timber vanity. A fluted bath and floor-standing bath spout serve as standout features, introducing a sense of luxury without overwhelming the room.
Challenges & Solutions
One of the biggest challenges was working with the terrazzo flooring. Being a natural product, it was difficult to cut, and its thickness posed challenges when laying it over the existing floor. Since we couldn’t control the original floor height, we worked closely with our tilers to carefully adjust the subfloor, ensuring a smooth and even installation while maintaining the design intent.
The bathroom balances soft textures and bold finishes, with a terrazzo floor in warm, natural tones and Venetian white render-look wall tiles adding subtle texture. The Australian chestnut vanity introduces a natural timber element, enhancing the warmth of the space.
The brushed bronze tapware not only adds a unique contrast but also brings an organic, timeless quality to the overall design.
