Gurr Project 2
- Space: Kitchen
Our lovely repeat clients returned to us after completing their ensuite renovation, ready to transform their kitchen and main bathroom. As these are key spaces used by guests, it was important that both rooms were not only functional but also visually beautiful. They wanted spaces that felt warm and inviting, with thoughtful details that reflected their style and enhanced day-to-day living.
This stage of the project gave us the opportunity to play with colour and texture. In the kitchen, the clients selected Breccia Botticelli natural stone for their benchtops — a standout feature that introduces rich character and movement.
To complement this, they chose a soft pink handmade splashback tile, laid in a French pattern for added interest and charm.
We designed a custom shaker-style cabinet door with a unique profiled edge, finished in 2pac paint. The profile was carefully developed to echo the curved design language used elsewhere in the home.
To complete the kitchen, the clients also chose to build an arched entry into their walk-in pantry, reinforcing the soft, layered aesthetic.
The floor was also upgraded using Tuscany Cream limestone tiles, selected to blend seamlessly with the existing stone throughout the home. This brought cohesion to the space while elevating its overall finish.
The overall look is refined yet full of personality. The natural stone surfaces, layered textures and subtle curves all work together to create a home that feels elegant, welcoming and curated. The soft pink splashback brings a sense of playfulness, balanced by the warmth of the limestone floor and the timeless cabinetry detail.
Challenges & Solutions
Fusing new finishes with existing architecture was crucial. Tuscany Cream limestone was selected to complement the original floors, and the shaker profile was softened to reflect the organic shapes introduced in earlier stages of the home’s update. Natural materials in both rooms tie back to the solid timber vanities and terrazzo flooring in the bathroom, ensuring every element feels cohesive.
