  • Space: Bathroom, Custom Space

What started as a small study renovation quickly evolved into a more complex renovation project, transforming not only the study but also the TV unit, entry unit, and powder room. The client sought to elevate the functionality of the home while maintaining an elegant and cohesive design.

By reconfiguring the study space, a new powder room was created on the first floor, which required careful consideration of plumbing and waste disposal. Custom joinery solutions were developed for the study, TV unit, entry unit, and powder room to ensure a seamless, unified aesthetic.

A key standout feature in this project is the powder room, which became a statement piece with its bold, colour-drenched design, paired with intricate basket-weave tiles. The powder room’s large apron and splashback in Mirage Lake quartzite further elevate the space, adding a sophisticated, luxurious touch to the renovation.

The custom joinery in the study, TV unit, and entry unit is also a defining feature, particularly the arches that were designed with precision and attention to detail.

The client desired a modern, refined aesthetic with functionality at its core. The design combined sleek, minimalist lines with warm textures, creating an inviting yet stylish environment.

The colour-drenched powder room with its bold design contrasts beautifully with the neutral tones throughout the home, offering a striking visual focal point. The use of natural materials like Mirage Lake quartzite, vegan upholstery, and basket-weave tiles brings depth and character, tying the design elements together in a cohesive and sophisticated manner.

Challenges & Solutions

One of the main challenges was the creation of the powder room from the existing study space. This required careful consideration of plumbing, waste disposal, and maintaining the integrity of the home’s overall layout. Despite the small size of the powder room, it was successfully reconfigured to be both functional and stylish.

The custom joinery also posed challenges, as it required precision in incorporating the arches into the design of the TV and entry units.
