Chataway Project

  • Space: Kitchen

After completing their bathrooms with us, the Chataway clients returned for a design-only package to reimagine their main living areas. Once the concept drawings and 3D renderings were in hand, they decided to move forward with construction and asked our team to deliver the full renovation. Their brief called for cohesive finishes, improved storage and an inviting flow from the entry through to the kitchen, dining and family zones.

This stage of the Chataway Project focused on layered, functional design with subtle statement details. Warm timber flooring was installed throughout for a cohesive base. In the kitchen renovation, custom joinery features a VJ-panelled splashback and handcrafted Japanese tiles that add texture and softness.

Savoir Limestone benchtops bring natural elegance, while a custom bar with wine fridge adds a touch of luxury. Smart storage was built into the pantry and entry, with a bespoke unit for concealed shoe storage and everyday essentials. Heating and cooling were also upgraded to suit the reconfigured layout.

The palette blends soft neutrals and natural textures for a calm, modern feel. VJ panelling adds a hint of coastal charm, while the Japanese splashback tiles provide an unexpected artisanal touch. The Savoir Limestone benchtops and warm timber flooring ground the scheme, allowing the custom joinery and bar area to shine without overwhelming the space.

Challenges & Solutions

Careful coordination kept ceiling lines uninterrupted. Storage was another priority. By designing tailored joinery in the kitchen, pantry and entrance, we maximised every millimetre without adding visual bulk. The 3D renderings supplied during design review helped the clients make swift, confident decisions about finishes and layout.
